A fantastic planer from Makita that is completely cordless thanks to the brushless DC motor drive unit combined with the XGT 40Vmax Lithium-ion battery platform. This combination allows excellent runtime as well as incredible performance, making this a much more versatile machine than its corded counterparts.

You can select to eject chips (or attach a dust extractor) on either the left or right side of the machine depending on what suits the application and user better. Between cuts, you can safely set the planer down on the ground, bench or even the workpiece thanks to the strong electric brake as well as the spring loaded rear foot that keeps the blade up off the surface.

If you have a spare AWS chip, you can put it in the KP001G to enable the planer to start your dust extractor automatically when you pull the trigger. There are V-grooves on the base plate that allow different sizes of chamfering quickly and easily.
