This Exitex replacement seal is to suit the Double Sealing Sill (DSS), Macclex Sills (MXS), Slimline Threshold (SLT) and Weatherten Lower (WTB). Homeowners often overlook the importance of a good quality door seal, but studies have shown that up to 15-20% of heat is lost through draughts, especially in older homes. One of the largest gaps in a home is under exterior doors, as they have to allow for expansion and contraction of the door material. Rubber seals are designed to make up that variable space and, as the name implies, seal out the environment. These seals are much the same as car wiper blades in that the rubber they are constructed from can perish, becoming hard and brittle. As they are always in the same compressed position, they can develop a memory of this shape and therefore always sit in the most open position.

Fitting Instructions:

• Remove old seal by pulling it through the hole in the retaining groove.
• Make sure the grooves are free from dust, grit, etc.
• Cut the new seal to size, groove length plus 12mm.
• Moisten the seal groove with liquid soap to allow the new seal to slide in easily.
• Slide the new rubber seal into the groove.
