This excellent circular saw from DeWalt features countless upgrades over the previous generation (DCS575), including more copper in the motor windings, more magnets, improved electronic control system, and one of the most asked for additions; a rafter hook. The increased windings and magnets in the motor are possible thanks to improvements in engineering to allow more room without compromising size or reliability. The DCS578 is in the same housing as the 575, allowing DeWalt to pass on additional cost savings to the customer. The power output by this circular saw is 47 percent greater than the old saw, now topping out at 2456 Watts. There is no better example than this of FlexVolt being the power of corded, with the freedom of cordless. This kit is supplied in a deep T-Stak kit box, along with the two high performance 9.0 Amp-hour Li-ion batteries and 8 Amp fan-cooled fast charger. This saw spins up to a maximum of 5,800 rpm and to keep the cutting line well visible, has an integrated dust-blower and LED work light. You can cut to a depth of 67mm when at a straight 90 degree angle, or at 45 degrees a still impressive 49mm cut depth. The angle can be adjusted, tool-free, all the way to 57 degrees, ideal for specialist cuts.
