Available in left hand or right handed versions, these rising butt hinges are the perfect solution for living rooms and bedrooms with a lush thick carpet pile. The problem with this carpet pile is that a well fitted door will drag over the pile, and quickly wear it out in a very obvious quadrant in front of the door. Many people either deal with this, or take length off the bottom of the door, leading to a draught and light leakage. Rising butt hinges are the solution to this. They allow the door to be installed with minimal bottom gap, but as they are opened, the ramp design of the hinge lifts the door enough to clear even the thickest carpet pile. Another advantage of the design of these is that the door can be lifted right off the hinges, tool-free – perfect for moving furniture.

To select the correct handedness, with the door opening towards you, you need the right handed hinges if the handle is on your right, and vice-versa.

These hinges are not suitable for use with fire doors.
